Point Defiance Zoo is a 29-acre integrated zoo and aquarium experience located in Tacoma, Washington. The zoo has housed animals at Point Defiance Park for over a hundred years, while the aquarium was added to the park in 1963. Over 9000 different specimens call the zoo home, including over 360 different species of animals. Point Defiance Zoo focuses specifically on animals and habitats from the Pacific Rim, ranging from its home territory of the United States’ Pacific Northwest, all the way to Southeast Asia.
