If you’re looking for a place to take your kids in El Paso, you can take them to the El Paso Zoo. The latter spans over 35 acres of land which is home to animals of Africa, Asia, and the Americas. There are special animal encounter programs which take place daily and at scheduled times and days during the week. If you’re in town for a short time, you can partake in a zoo sleepover. Participants must be 7 years or older and have at least one adult chaperone in the group. Sleepovers take place on Friday night from 6:00 p.m. until Saturday at 8:00 a.m. Some activities of the sleepover adventures include live animal presentations; evening and early morning guided tours; and scientist role play. You’ll receive light snacks in the evening and a continental breakfast in the morning.
El Paso Zoo Hours:
The zoo is open from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., excluding New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day. On Saturdays and Sundays the zoo’s hours of operation are from 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. On the weekend after Memorial Day through Labor Day weekend the zoo opens until 6:00 p.m. during its extended weekend hours. On Christmas Eve tickets are sold until noon and the zoo closes at 1:00 p.m.

Directions: When travelling from Interstate 10, get off at the Paisano Exit 23B. Travel southwest along Paisano and keep to the right until you arrive at the zoo’s entrance.
If you’re travelling from downtown, drive east onto Paisano. Once you cross the bridge, the zoo is on the left.
