The Dallas Zoo has been named as one of the Best Family Attractions according to a D Magazine’s local poll.
There are more than 2,000 animals of 406 species present at the zoo. Explore exhibits such as the Giants of the Savanna and Wilds of Africa. Although its name speaks for itself, the Lacerte Family Children’s Zoo is also open to those adults who consider themselves young at heart. Features of the family children’s zoo include The Stream; The Farm; Travis & Zach’s Birds Landing; The JCPenney Discovery House and A.H. Belo Discovery Yard; The Wander; and The Hillcrest Foundation Nature Exchange.
If you prefer to forego the the exhibits, you can partake in camel rides; the Endangered Species Carousel; and the Koala Walkabout. There’s also SOAR, A festival of Flight, which is available in the spring.

Dallas Zoo offers DART Pass, military, and senior discounts. If you ride to the zoo on a same-day DART Pass on Mondays or Tuesdays you’ll be eligible for a Dallas Zoo Coupon discount of $2 on general admission.
Military: If you’re a member of the military, you’ll be entitled to a $2 discount on each general admission ticket. Your party must consists of no more than two adults and two children. You must present your military I.D. to receive this discount.
Seniors: On Wednesdays seniors ages 65 and over can pay $5 for admission to the zoo.
Membership: The membership levels available at the zoo include sponsor, family-plus, family passport, individual-plus, curator, patron, family, unlimited, contributor, president’s circle, and friends program.

If you’re from out of town, you can stay at one of the hotels near the Dallas Zoo.
