Back in 2000, Taiga, a tiger at Zoo Boise made national headlines when she slipped out of an open gate and attacked a woman at the zoo.
The woman escaped with her life and made a full recovery.
Now 13 years later, and no further attacks, Taiga had to be put down due to her health dramatically declining. She suffered from renal failure and had many tumors on her spleen.
She was 15 years old and been at the zoo since 1999.
She is survived by 2 other Amur tigers who still live at the zoo.
