Bronx Zoo

Bronx Zoo
Bronx Zoo is the flagship zoo of Wildlife Conservation Society (WCS). The Society established its very own veterinary department in the zoo in 1901. From being a department, it was now known as the Wildlife Health Sciences Division including sub-departments as clinical care, nutrition, pathology and field veterinary programs.

There are two health centers at Bronx Zoo. The first is the Wildlife Health Center which serves more than 15,000 animals housed in the other three zoos that the Society operates. The second is the Aquatic Animal Health Center, which is basically a hospital. This health center has a laboratory, an operating room, several pools, x-ray machines, and a kitchen.

On a lighter note, Bronx Zoo provides entertainment to the visitors through watching animal playtime. There are also training sessions including exhibits throughout the park on a daily basis. There are exhibits inside and outside the zoo.
