St. Louis Zoo landed a spot on TripAdvisor’s top 10 zoos in the nation. Some of the animals you can see during your visit include bullet ants; termites; giant cockroaches; ladybug beetles; brown widows; American bullfrogs; hellbenders; green iguanas; corn snakes; box turtles; grey-winged trumpeters; and ostriches.

For a more close up and personal setting with the animals, there are programs such as Keeper for a Day and A Day with the Rays.

St. Louis Zoo Coupons

You can save a few bucks on admission and other programs at the zoo with St. Louis Zoo coupons. Such discounts are available to members and groups.

Members: Choose from 11 membership levels. These include director, family, young zoo friend, conservation advocate, senior/student, zoo goer, grandparent, keeper, zoologist, curator, and naturalist. Based on your membership level, you can enjoy discounted admission to participating AZA zoos; discounts on gift shop purchases; free parking; and special invitations.

Groups: of 15 or more persons will receive a discount once they make an advanced reservation.

With the exception of holidays such as Christmas Day and New Year’s Day, St. Louis Zoo opens from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily.

There is no charge to visit the zoo. Admission fees must be paid for attractions such as the children’s zoo, Conservation Carousel, Zooline Railroad, 4-D Motion Simulator, and Safari Tours.

Directions: If you’re travelling on the US 40/I64 eastbound and westbound, get off at the Hampton exit 34B and follow the signs heading to Forest Park. Make a left turn at the first roundabout on Wells Drive and you’ll arrive at the zoo’s southern entrance.

If you’re travelling from the north or northwest, drive on the I-70 or I-270 heading to I-170 south. Get onto I-64/40 east and get off at the Hampton exit 34B. Use the signs leading to Forest Park as a guide. Make a left turn at the first roundabout on Wells Drive and you’ll arrive at the zoo’s southern entrance.

If you’re taking public transportation, take the MetroLink to Forest Park/DeBaliviere station and connect to the MetroBus route #90 Hampton south. During the spring/summer season, take the Forest Park Trolley. You can also take the MetroBus alone depending on the area from which you’re travelling.
