Naples Zoo is an incredible place to bring friends and family and have a wonderful day! The zoo came into existence as part of a personal project by botanist Dr. Henry Nehrling in 1919. Ten years later after his death, the gardens were abandoned and activity on the land did not begin until 1954. The gardens were converted to a zoo in 1967. Since then, the zoo has become the home of 70 species belonging to exhibits such as Cheetahs, Fosas of Madagascar, Black Bear Hammock, Leopard Rock, Tiger Forest, Alligator Bay, and Backyard Habitat.
