The Miami Metro Zoo is run by the Miami-Dade County Park and Recreation Department. There are more than 2,000 animals. Its exhibits include Africa, Amazon, Asia, and Beyond and Australia. Each exhibit is representative of the animals located in those respective regions.
Besides the four main exhibits, there’s a children’s zoo. Take your family to the Wacky Barn to groom the goats or sheep. If you’d prefer to skip the grooming, you can feed the goats or sheep for an additional fee. Other features of the the children’s zoo include the Toadstool, Humpy’s Camel Rides, Meerkat Exhibit, Toadstool, and Wildlife Carousel.

AAA Members: You’ll get $1 off general admission for an adult or child. This offer applies to a party of up to four people.
Miami Dade County Employees: Get $4 off general admission for an adult and $2 off general admission for a child. You can use this offer for up to four people in your immediate family.
Military: You’re eligible for a 25% discount off any adult or child general admission tickets for a party of up to four people.
Seniors (65+): There’s a 25% discount off general admission tickets for seniors.
Travel Agents: You’re entitled to a 10% discount off general admission for up to four people.
Tour/Motorcoach Operators: You’ll get 10% off general admission tickets.
Membership: There are five membership levels available. These include individual, senior individual, dual, senior dual, and family.

Miami Metro Zoo Hours:
The Miami Metro Zoo opens daily with special holiday hours during Thanksgiving and Christmas. American Bankers Family Aviary, Children’s Zoo, and Dr. Wilde’s World open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during its regular schedule. On Thanksgiving Day the opening hours are from 9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., while on Christmas Day its opening hours are from noon to 5:30 p.m.

Directions: If you’re coming from Miami Beach, travel along 395 West until you arrive at 836 West. Drive on 836 West until you arrive at the Florida Turnpike. Make a left on Florida Turnpike and travel south until you arrive at exit 16. When leaving the turnpike, come down the ramp to your right. At this exit turn right onto 152 Street. Continue west on SW 152 Street. Get in the left lane and travel along SW 124 Street to enter the zoo.
If you’re coming from the Broward and Palm Beach areas, travel on the Florida Turnpike 821 South until you arrive at the Homestead Extension. While on Homestead, take exit 16. Travel down ramp, make a right onto the exit and turn right onto 152 Street. Travel west on SW 152 Street (Coral Reef Drive). Get in the left lane and drive along SW 124 Avenue to enter the zoo.
If you’re traveling from the Florida Keys, drive on US 1 North until you arrive at 152 Street (Coral Reef Drive). Turn left on 152 Street and continue west for three miles. Keep to the left on SW 124 Street to enter the zoo.
If you’re coming from Coconut Grove, drive along US 1 South (South Dixie Highway) until you arrive at 152 Street (Coral Reef Drive). Turn right on 152 Street and continue west for three miles. Keep to the left on SW 124 Street to enter the zoo.
