Denver Zoo


Denver Zoo was considered as one of the most famous zoos in the US. The zoo started when the then Mayor of Denver was given a bear. Today, Denver Zoo houses around 4,000 animals that represent about 700 species including the rarest animals as black rhinoceros, red-bellied lemur, okapi and Amur leopard.

Denver Zoo embraces the modern zoo exhibitry philosophy, not just to improve the lives of the animals under its custody, but also to enrich the experience of the visitors. There are numerous naturalistic habitats such as the Tropical Discovery, Predator Ridge, Primate Panorama and Dragons of Komodo.

Denver Zoo welcomes more than 1.6 million visitors in attendance on an annual basis.

Also, Denver Zoo offers free days through the year. Specifically, the free days will be on January 11 , 12 and 23; February 3, 4 and 21; and, November 4, 5 and 29.


Coupons/Discounts


Denver Zoo Coupons

You need not pay for the full admission prices in visiting Denver Zoo. Denver Zoo coupons and discounts are offered to the visitors all year round.

Membership: Aside from enjoying the zoo for 365 days, members will receive a members’ only discount and members’ only check in. Members will receive 20% discount on gift shops and 10% on restaurants. Also, the membership package is inclusive of discounts on lectures and classes. Members will also receive Denver Zoo’s publication for free.

There are five levels of membership namely individual, individual + guest, zoo for two, family, and family plus. Membership fees are $55, $80, $80, $110 and $130 respectively.

Seniors: Senior citizens aged 65 and above will receive a $5 discount regardless of which membership level he or she will choose.

Groups: Denver Zoo offers savings for a group of 20 or more in paid admissions. Groups of 20 to 99 will receive $2 discount per adult per ticket, $1.50 discount per senior per ticket and $1.25 discount per child per ticket. Groups of 100+ will receive $4 discount per adult per ticket, $3 discount per senior per ticket and $2.50 discount per child per ticket.

Non-profit organizations will also receive special admission prices. Non-profit group members will receive $4 discount per adult per ticket, $3 discount per senior per ticket and $2.50 discount per child per ticket.

School groups will also receive discounts for self-guided field trips. Students will be charged $5 for K-12 self-guide field trips provided that the minimum number of students is 10. Adults and parents chaperones will be charged $5. However, teachers and school staff and assistants and/or aides for special needs students can enter the zoo for free. For college students, the charge will be $7.

Hotels Near Denver Zoo:

You will never run out of accommodations near Denver Zoo. The accommodations vary from five star hotels to bed and breakfast hotels to condo hotels to vacation homes.
Some of the Denver Zoo hotels that are within about a mile are Holiday Chalet Victorian, Adagio, and Castle Marne.

Some of the hotels within 2 Miles of Denver Zoo are Ramada Denver Downtown, Queen Anne, and Econo Lodge Denver.

There are other places that you may enjoy while you are staying at any of these Denver Zoo hotels. These are shopping centers, malls, amphitheaters, theaters, theme parks and museums within 5 to 15 minute’s drive away from the zoo and the hotel.


Zoo Hours


Denver Zoo Hours:

Denver Zoo is open every day. Denver Zoo’s opening hours differ, depending on the season.

During winter, Denver Zoo will be open from November 1 until February 28.
The winter hours are from 10 am up to 4 pm. The grounds will be closed at 5 pm.

During summer, the zoo will be open from March 1 until October 31.
The summer hours are from 9am up to 5 pm. The grounds will be closed at 6pm.
