The Vancouver Zoo, located right outside of Vancouver in Aldergrove, British Columbia, houses 120 aces of gardens and exhibits. Although the Vancouver Zoo has been around since the late 1960s, the zoo was brought to its current state in 1999, with a special focus on conservation. The zoo’s most special attraction might be its Radical Raptor Birds of Prey exhibit, in which viewers can experience “free-flying presentations” from large birds like falcons, eagles, and hawks. Be sure to check out the big cat feedings, which take place at 1:00 PM from April through September. Watch live as zookeepers feed the cats raw meat, while providing a guided informational tour about the lions and tigers. The event draws hundreds of viewers each day, so arrive early if you want the best spot in line!
