The Little Rock Zoo is located in Little Rock, Arkansas. Situated on 33 acres of land, the zoo is divided into four territories: The north, south, east and west quadrants of the globe. With more than seven hundred different animals and two hundred different species, the establishment is the largest zoo in the state. Although the zoo started modestly enough in 1926, housing only two circus animals, it now provides the opportunity to encounter African lions, great apes, bears, elephants, and cheetahs.
For those visiting with small children, the Little Rock Zoo has an antique carousel, a train, and its own special Children’s Farm, where kids can interact with farm animals. The Little Rock Zoo also has its own big cat exhibit, which houses several of the largest felines in the entire world. The most notable might be the Malayan Tiger water pool, where visitors can watch the giant cats go for a swim.
